Inspection made by the Chief of the General Staff of the Egyptian Armed forces at the Gaza borders and its message
Under the current and tense situation in the region and the heightened tensions in the ties between Tel-Aviv and Cairo, Chief of the General Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces made a visit to the Rafah and the joint borders with Egypt under tight security.
According to Negaheno report Chief of the General Staff of armed forces of Egypt, Ahmad Khalifeh while visiting the armed forces of his country on the borders with Gaza stressed that the main task of his country’s armed forces is to protect the borders of the country in all its strategic aspects and the armed forces have the power to defend their homeland.
He also reiterated on the knowledge, will and high physical preparation for ensuring to undertake all forms of professional missions. The military experts all believe that the visit made by the chief of the general staff of the armed forces of Egypt had many messages with it. The first message was that Egypt is serious about what it says and any violation of commitments by Israel will be unacceptable.Former general and director of the morality code office of the Egyptian army said: “There are many hidden messages in this visit.
The first message is for the Egyptian soldier at the borders that chief of the army has come to inspect you and you are well aware of your mission”.According to Faraj the second message is that he is ensuring the people of Egypt that the safety of the borders is fully secured and the chief of the army and his senior commanders are inspecting the defense plans. The third message was that the Egyptian army is ready to protect the security of the north eastern borders.
Former advisor to the war minister of the Zionist army also said that the visit made by the chief of the Egyptian army had four reasons and he is determined and does not wish Israel to neglect the laws and deliver its forces at the Rafah corridor or the Philadelphi route.According to Koby Levy’s comments the second reason is to convey this message that the return of the control of Philadelphi route to Hamas would not mean that they will be allowed to dig new tunnels and it will be unacceptable.
He reminded that the presence of the chief of the armed forces in the region would mean that Egypt will make every effort to disagree with Israel’s presence there but at the same time it will not allow Hamas to violate Egypt’s national security.
Coby explained that the third reason is that Egypt reminds the US and the active countries dealing with Arab- Israel war that Cairo will not accept Israel’s presence at the Rafah corridor or the Philadelphi route since it contradicts the agreements made in this regard. He stressed: “The fourth reason is to send a message to Israel that Egypt will not accept the presence of the Israeli forces in Rafah and Philadelphi corridors as it is a violation of the agreements made and just as Cairo is bound to the agreements so too Israel must be bound to the agreements.
