Qatar and Turkey are Using Gas as a Political Weapon
Qatar and Turkey are Using Gas as a Political WeaponSpeaking with Negaheno university professor and researcher in international relations residing in the US, Dr. Hamzah Al-Kanaani said: “Qatar and Turkey are using gas as a political weapon.
According to Negaheno report Hamza AlKanaani said: By using gas as a political weapon Qatar and Turkey can work as an effective instrument in reducing Russia’s influence over Europe’s policies. “The Qatar -Turkey pipeline project is strategically important for Turkey not only for reducing energy dependence but also for increasing its geopolitical influence.“Turkey is trying to turn into a key gas distributor, receive gas from various providers and reexport it to other markets.“This project can strengthen Turkey’s relations with other countries and lead to more politico- economic cooperation.
“Meanwhile, Israel continues to follow its strategic goals for securing its borders and securing its hegemony in the region by interim unity with countries such as Turkey and the US.“ These constant geopolitical unities and maneuvers are boldened due to political and geo-security reasons and also over oil and gas resources creating complications and confusions in the Middle East power balance.”
