PKK Dissolution Will Not reduce Challenges Existing Between Turkey and Kurds

Negaheno correspondent from Ankara has reported that even though PKK has emphasized on an end to armed fighting in their statement however, the reality is that the Kurds still continue with their challenges in Turkey.
According to Negaheno report the correspondent who wished to remain anonymous said: “Ankara continues to encounter with Kurds’ demands and challenges especially in terms of achieving their cultural, political and social rights.”
He further said: “PKK dissolution will have widespread political and security consequences in the region in particular, over Kurds’ relationship with Syria and Iraq who had close links with this party in the past.”
The correspondent reminded: “The decision was made under the US pressure following the recent changes in the region and most probably Turkey will have to give up some advantages to the regional sides and the Kurd’s minority.”
Finally, he said: “There is great possibility that PKK leader Abdullah Ujalan who was imprisoned by Turkey from 26 years ago would be freed in return for this decision. It is said that this group will continue with their political activities.”
