The BRICS’ Journalist Association has been put under sanctions by the EU

“As for the BRICS Journalists Association, its inclusion in the sanctions list demonstrates the European Union’s unprecedented level of concern about the growing influence of BRICS on the global stage. This indicates the EU’s fear of strengthening BRICS countries’ cooperation, including their efforts to promote free journalism and counter censorship, which undermines the Western media’s monopoly on the information space.

We are confident that such restrictive measures will not weaken, but rather strengthen the determination of the Association to continue our mission. Our activities are aimed at protecting human rights and freedom of speech, which remains a priority even in the face of external pressure.”
