Restructuring Power within Shiite Coordination: Signs of a New Agreement

According to Negaheno report the election in Iraq is a reflection of a socio- political change among the Iraqi Shiites, a change that shows the Shiite community has gathered again around national sovereignty, Hashd Al- Shaabi and jurisdiction as their red line despite economic crisis, poor services and foreign pressures

 On the other hand, other streams that have entered with slogans of dissolving Hashd Al-Shaabi or are with extremist views against the resistance movement such as Adnan Al-Zarfi, the former candidate for the prime ministerial position and a close figure to the US have been encountered with people’s negative and firm reactions. Even when the Sadr stream boycotted the elections it failed to reduce the Shiite participation. The wide presence of the people showed that the Shiite community have preferred this time to play a more active role in determining the future of their country instead of political distancing.
